Condition Descriptions

We advise that if you are unsure of the condition or specification of your device, please contact us. The order will be revised to a higher or lower price if there are any discrepancies; the new price will be non-negotiable, but we will return the items free of charge if the price is not acceptable.

General Requirements
Applies to all device types

When selling a laptop, we ask what operating system the device originally came with so that we can calculate its age. For example, a Windows 7 device will be much older than a Windows 10 device. Please only specify the original OS, not any upgrades which may have been installed at a later date. All devices, unless otherwise stated on your order, should include genuine/official power cables and plugs/adaptors; third-party accessories are not accepted. You must factory reset your old phone or tablet, this is not a requirement for laptops. Batteries of any device must hold a charge at least 50% of their original capacity or it will be deemed "Not holding charge".

Working (No Damage)
i.e. Undamaged, "Good" Condition

The device should power on correctly and be able to be used day-to-day without issue. It should have no cracks, dents, deep scratches or missing keys. Devices with light wear and tear such as shiny marks and light scratches are accepted. Under this condition, devices should be UK models, or unlocked US models; any device with a non-UK or non-US keyboard is classed as Damaged (Still Usable).

Laptops running Microsoft Windows 7 (and older) must have a valid Certificate of Authenticity sticker with a readable “product key” (generally located on the base of the laptop or under the battery). If the sticker is worn off then your laptop will not be eligible for this condition. This is not a requirement for Windows 8 and Windows 10 laptops.

  • No excessive or deep scratching
  • No noticeable areas of paint scratched or worn off

  • Readable COA sticker (only for Windows 7 and older laptops)

Damaged (Still Usable)
i.e. Light Damage, "Acceptable" Condition

For devices that do not meet the criteria for "Working (No Damage)". The device should power on correctly and be able to be used day-to-day without any issue. It may have a dent, a deep scratch or one missing keyboard key, but not to the extent that the usability of the device is affected.

Not Working, Broken or Faulty
i.e. Heavy Damage, "Poor" Condition

For devices that do not meet the criteria for "Working (No Damage)" or "Damaged (Still Usable)". The device is not catastrophically damaged, in several pieces, crushed or burnt. We do not accept devices that have any of their core components such as LCD screen or Hard Disk Drive missing from them.
